Volcanic Ash Flight Disturbance
In the weeks to come, we will be constantly monitoring the situation with the relevant airlines, the CAA and NATS. Should flights be disrupted again by the ash cloud, we will make the necessary plans on a day-by-day basis. It is impossible to plan too far ahead because of the rapidly-changing nature of the situation. Our outbound departures will only be cancelled if the airline is unable to fly; these decisions are likely to be left quite late by the airline. If the plane flies, our groups will fly.
Should groups be delayed through flight disruptions once abroad, we will use our excellent relationships with local hotels to ensure accommodation is in place if necessary. Participants will be well cared for by our tour leaders, who will be with the group at all times, and our local guides. We will be in constant touch with them and will update charities and next of kin as appropriate.
In the event of a delayed homebound flight, Discover Adventure will endeavour to keep any extra costs to a minimum but it is likely that participants will face some extra costs – it is vital that they carry a credit card with them.
Should a participant decide he/she does not wish to travel before the airline has made its decision, normal Discover Adventure cancellation procedures will apply.
