INFORMATION FOR CHARITIES:

Planning Your Bespoke Challenge

We have built up a great deal of experience and understanding and are happy to give you our advice free of charge.

STEP ONE: DISCUSSIONS

We come to see you, and discuss ideas for events which will suit:

- your time scale

- your budget

- the type of supporters you want to attract (ie extremely strenuous and demanding; suitable for older people; closer to home; more unusual and off-the-beaten-track; a popular classic, etc.)

STEP TWO: TRIP INFORMATION

With your challenge and trip dates finalised, we provide you with all the information you’ll need, including:

- detailed itinerary

- risk assessment

- kit-list

- training guide

- any material you require for promotional purposes. We are always happy to give you promotional advice

STEP THREE: SPREAD THE WORD!

Go ahead and recruit your group!

Why not use our tailored online booking system: your participants can use our online payment technology via a simple link from your website, and eliminate any time your team would normally spend on administration at the Registration stage.

STEP FOUR: PARTICIPANT INFORMATION

We will advise you on any further participant-related administration and necessary deadlines for mandatory information such as travel insurance, passport details and medical information.

We can provide you with all necessary forms and they can all be returned directly to us to save you extra administration. From our unique online charity log-in area you’ll be able to see what information is still outstanding from your group; you will not need to input any of this data yourself!

STEP FIVE: QUESTIONS

Our experienced team is on hand to answer questions, from you and your participants, throughout the lead-up to your challenge. You may prefer to have the majority of contact with your group so you can get to know them well, but we are always here to help!

STEP SIX: PAYMENT

Your deposit is payable only 5 months before trip departure; final payment for each participant is due 8-10 weeks prior to the trip. Your participants should have raised 80% of their fundraising target by this stage, and we’ll liaise with you to find out how they are getting on – it is your decision whether to send anyone with a shortfall on the trip at this stage.

STEP SEVEN: INFORMATION DAY

Most charities host a pre-trip information day 2-3 months before trip departure, and we’re happy to come along and show your group photos of the trip, and examples of the type of kit they should be taking. In many cases this is a chance for them to meet one of the Discover Adventure crew that will be leading their trip.

STEP EIGHT: THE CHALLENGE!

The trip itself is operated to high standards by our experienced leaders and support crew, ensuring a safe yet immensely enjoyable adventure that provides an unforgettable sense of achievement. We want your participants to come back to you for another trip!

STEP NINE: FEEDBACK

Post-trip support is very important to us. We always think it’s useful to meet up after your trip and discuss anything that could have been improved; we listen to your feedback and ensure it’s even better on your next trip!
