We travel by plane and then river boat to the Tambopata-Candamo Reserve Zone, on the banks of the Tambopata River. The reserve zone is a protected 6,000 square km area in the depths of the Peruvian Amazon. Our accommodation is set on the very edge of the Reserve, and feels incredibly remote and wild!
You will be accompanied by local naturalist guides as you explore the rainforest paths and waterways. You will be able to learn a great deal about the flora and fauna here in the jungle, as well as gaining an insight into the ecological and conservation issues of the Peruvian Amazon.
Although you are likely to see plenty of wildlife, it's the unique atmosphere of the rainforest, with its dense foliage and enormous trees, that will leave you with the greatest impression. The sounds and smells of the rainforest, especially after rainfall, form an incredible experience which will remain with you forever.
