Hi

I have finally taken the plunge and signed up for the Sahara Trek next March
(1st). I would be interested in hearing from anyone who is also going as
well as anyone who has done it before.

Cheers

Ken

Hi

Thought I'd just repost this - anyone signed up yet?

Cheers

Not going on this one but did it earlier this year. Its awesome. Take plenty of rehydration tablets and plenty of clean socks as sand gets into boots. Enjoy!

Hi Ken

I've signed up for this too. I'm looking forward to it but a little fearful as I've never done anything like this before. Any tips on training or things to do/not do.

Ella

Really great to hear from someone else on the trip. Like you this is my first
time on anything like this. I work from home and I've become aware how
unfit I've become thus my reason for signing up - I used to be fitter but that
was many years ago! So I'm not sure I'm the person to ask for tips .
Are you planning a specific training routine?

Cheers

Ken

Hi Ken
Yes I'm using the fitness guide provided
to help build up the walking. Need to
keep motivated so think I'll join a walking
group.

Hi folks,

Just signed up for the March 1st one as well.

Has anyone else had any problems with getting your doctor to sign the medical form? Mine doesn't like the wording on the form as it asks for her opinion!

I haven't got as far as tailing it to the Doctor yet - assumed it would be a
formality

I thought it would be as well but for some strange reason my doctor isn't too keen. She was supposed to get back to me with an answer today but I'll wait and see.

It's the wording "In my opinion this patient is currently fit and healthy both mentally and physically, and able to participate in the event."

I can't think of someone more qualified to give their opinion but she is worried about being sued if something happens to me. Cheers Doc!!
