Hi Linda
You and Egg are not alone - strangely I'm also missing being away with every1 & being out on the bike all day . Having said that, I've decided that I'm going to do the Trekking Great Wall of China challenge in 2011 - already considering what fundraising ideas I can do that differ to last time.
How did you find out about the bag packing days? Do you have a contact number I could have please?
Many Thanks
Kayla

Hi Kayla
Wow, Great Wall Trekking, that's fantastic. I'm considering the Paris Geneva ride in 2010, give my sore bottom plenty of time to think about it!!
Egg did all the arranging for M&S so I'll get her to give you the details It was good fun. Especially when my mum came and helped us. She wouldn't take no for an answer. She was like a dog with a bone bless her!!
Anyway,spk again soon
xx

Hi all!!!
Hope everyone is well!!!
Kayla - about the bag packing - i just went into the food hall at the Marks and Spencer and spoke to the Manager, they were more than happy to help. They do it for a lot of charitys so we had to fit in on what free days they had left. the day was really fun though and the ladies on the till were great!!
Make sure you get some t-shirts made up saying what you are doing, that then gets the customers talking and then they donate!!!Good Luck!!
How's everyone else doing - back on the bikes yet??
xx

Hi all!
I made it to Geneva, despite the sore knees and big hills. Actually, the last day in the mountains was the most enjoyable of the whole ride - hard work with a couple of 10km long uphills, but really satisfying to get to the top.
Definitely caught the cycling bug - as soon as the pain in my knees has gone I'll be back on my bike and looking for hills.
Kayla - that's a fantastic fundraising effort. I haven't even managed half that, although still bugging some people to cough up.
Mark

Hi, Going to buy a go faster bike !
Looking at D.A.'s Alp challenge. TBH it's the downhills not the uphills that freak me.
Back to my original incarnation as a runner for winter's XC season next month but won't forget my beloved bike
love to you all esp Stan, Emily,Lindy Lou & Kayla
Tricia xx

Hi Tricia
A go faster bike! You went fast enough on your trusty steed didn't you? You were always one of the 1st ones to reach the hotel each night!!
I must admit, I looked at the Alp Challenge, but then thought better of it!! I could handle all the downhills they could throw at me, it's the uphills that would kill me especially Alpe D’Huez!!!! I watched the TDF!! Thinking of doing the Paris-Geneva section in 2 years as next year I'm being roped in to a ride at work from Darlington (we have a factory there) back to Daventry, via our faactories at Huddersfield & Stamford. 250 miles over 3 days.
Rachel & Shona are trying to get people involved in a York to Amsterdam ride next Jun. Here's the link http://www.charityadventure.org.uk/amsterslam2009.aspx
Anyway, good luck with the XC, I can't run to save my life!! So I'll brave the elements on two wheels. I'll use my hubbies mountian bike.
Spk soon
Love Linda xxxx

hi just want to ask anybody who ha done this ride to let me know if they got any training tips or fundrasing tips. As for my training iv been doing one 16-20 mile ride on a Sunday the another Miles on Monday and if i can ill get some in on Saturday depends if I'm working. I did do a 24miles today which took me 2hours 24mins with looks of steep hills as i live in the cotswolds i go loads of hill near me like cleeve hill ad bredon hill i also quite near malvern hill but not tried that one yet, still trying to get use to bredon hill near me as that is so step in places. Can someone tell me if the training is OK and the times I'm ding it in is about right and how often on the ride do u stop for drinks ad how log into the ride do u have lurch. Any advice will do.
thanks dean
