Fundraising challenges are very different from a holiday and involve much more in all respects. The achievement of undergoing such a physical and psychological challenge is immensely rewarding and often life-changing. “I am not given to overt displays of emotion. I didn’t cry when I was married, when my kids were born or when I hit my thumb with a sledgehammer but at the end of this year’s L2P tears were streaming down my face as I circled the Arc De Triomphe and cycled down Les Champs Elysees! Completing the ride gave me the greatest feeling of achievement I have had for many moons.
