"I am so grateful to you for Discover Adventure's tremendous contribution to the Halfords Help for Heroes Bike Ride 2008.

We, nearly 300 riders including a team of wounded from Headley Court, ride 350 miles, climbed 18,500 ft, burned 22300 calories and endured countless punctures remembering the fallen, and raising money to help care for the living.

This was an extraordinary event and part of an even more extraordinary national demonstration of support for our wounded; you made it possible. From the day in July 2007 that I walked into the Discover Adventure office and talked to you, to the final farewell at Horse Guards, the Discover Adventure team have been simply wonderful. You should be very proud indeed of your whole team.

We have heard so many comments about your superb organisation, and the best one was 'DA did better than the Army could have done'! I am delighted to be able to report that the ride raised in excess of 1.2 million. Thank you so much." Bryn Parry, Help for Heroes, 2008

"I have just come back from the most amazing experience of my life – the Kilimanjaro Trek. I would like to thank you for providing us with a very special team of leaders, they were simply outstanding, very professional and made the trip fun but with the sense we were in very capable hands, I could not have done it without them. I have made some wonderful friends and would recommend Discover Adventure to anyone. Thank you so much." Alison, Kilimanjaro Trek Open Challenge 2007

"I have always wanted to walk to Machu Picchu and my dream was fulfilled beyond all my expectations. The whole trip was tremendously well-organised. Thanks for enabling me to make the trip of a lifetime!" Jill, Trek Peru Open Challenge 2007

"Was very impressed with the organisation of this trip, and the way we were looked after all the way through. Thank you!" Margaret, Trek Peru Open Challenge 2007

“I am not given to overt displays of emotion. I didn’t cry when I was married, when my kids were born or when I hit my thumb with a sledgehammer but at the end of this year’s L2P tears were streaming down my face as I circled the Arc De Triomphe and cycled down Les Champs Elysees! Completing the ride gave me the greatest feeling of achievement I have had for many moons. In common with many on the ride I did not think I could do it, which will make the memory and the emotions so much stronger because I did!

You guys must really be complimented on what for me was a superb piece of organisation. The Discover Adventure crew were great, the hotels were good, the food and water stops top notch and the orange arrows from start to finish superb. One of the best organised events that I have ever been involved in. You all deserve a pat on the back. You did a superb job!!" Malcolm, London to Paris Cycle 2007, Action Medical Research

"I simply had an amazing time and can’t wait for my next trip!" Dan, Peru Trek Open Challenge 2007

"Discover Adventure has the ability to select leaders who sense the needs of the party, provide guidance and leadership when required and otherwise let people operate in their own adult way. The choice of lodges worked well and we had a really good insight into the life and cuisine of the local people. Brilliant. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole event and felt privileged to be in the Himalaya with 'wall to wall' blue skies and fantastic sharp views of the mountains." Malcolm, Everest Base Camp Trek Open Challenge 2007

"I had a fantastic time in China and thought your crew was excellent, enthusiastic and motivating. It was an exhilarating experience and I could have walked for another week as I didn't want it to end. Thanks for a fab trip, one I shall never forget." Chrissie, Great Wall of China Open Challenge 2007

"The first three days were full of "wow"s every time we went over a hill or round a mountain …Overall thoroughly enjoyed the trip and felt I'd more than earned the fundraising!" Veronica, Iceland Ice Cap Trek 2007

"Had a fantastic time! Met so very interesting and nice people, and very much enjoyed the challenge which was geared so all abilities could get something out of the experience." Darren, London to Paris Open Challenge 2007

"I really enjoyed the whole experience - the people were great and really looked out for one another and the scenery was awesome (in the true sense of the word) … The trip was fantastic - the achy knees and sore feet were definitely worth it!!" Abi, Peru Trek Open Challenge 2007

"It was meticulously organised from start to finish, clearly signposted all the way, fab food, good staff that helped no end with morale …super trip which exceeded my expectations. I’ll be doing London to Geneva with you next!" Paul, London to Paris Open Challenge 2007

"I loved it all!! The bonding of the group, the humour, the challenge and the opportunity to do something quite different and something which would make a difference to the lives of children in Yorkhill Hospital. I felt the entire trip was really well organised and thought out, with opportunities to have a whole range of experiences, culturally and socially as well as the physical and emotional demands. I found it physically hard, but quite amazing and I am so glad I have had this whole experience!" Morag, Great Wall of China Open Challenge 2007

"I don’t know what the highlight was … Achieving something that was so totally different from anything I have ever done before. Meeting such a mixture of people who all came together for the same goal - completing a challenge and raising money for their own individual charities. And of course the finish – it was such a satisfying experience to know I had delivered what I promised to the people who kindly donated to the charity. A brilliant trip!

Thanks to all the crew - truly superb and very professional. They kept morale high and made the trip fun. Well done Discover Adventure – I will definitely do another trip ... and testament to your professionalism is the number of people I met on this trip who are seasoned Discover Adventure participants." Jason, London to Paris Open Challenge 2007

"The spirit and support within the team helped each of us to achieve the challenge  … it was a wonderful experience and although I found it really tough, the support from all the guides and fellow team members (not forgetting all the porters) really made it a trip to remember. Thank you to everyone concerned." Elaine, Peru Trek Open Challenge, 2007

"I have nothing but praise for the Discover Adventure leaders and doctors. They were amazing and far exceeded my expectations of what a trip leader would be like. The sense of teamwork and achievement on the trip was unforgettable – a truly positive experience." Sam, Peru Trek 2007, Macmillan Cancer Support

"As a military man I've done many expeditions in the past but the organisation, support and company were all second to none! Well done. I look forward to Everest Base Camp next year....!" Simon, Kilimanjaro Trek Open Challenge 2007

"Thank you for making what would have been an excellent adventure into one that was just that little bit more." Jackie, Iceland Ice Cap Trek 2007

"I absolutely loved doing this trip. The hard physical and mental challenges, the completely different social environment, the complete lack of hygiene when it comes to Chinese toilets! All of this made it a memorable journey that we all treasured." Kirsten, Great Wall of China Open Challenge 2007

"Thanks again to all for a simply amazing few days. The whole thing, on every level, exceeded expectations and often simply surprised – the roadside lunches will never be forgotten, they were superb! The team’s organization and implementation was so good we simply didn’t have a worry on our minds which allowed for even greater focus on the cycling, the countryside and the many new friends made. I’ve not stopped talking about it and am badgering everyone I know to take part next year!" Nicholas, London to Paris Cycle 2007, Action Medical Research

"This comes with our grateful thanks for all you did to ensure the Halfords Help for Heroes Bike Ride was the resounding success it was. The thanks have been pouring in from the bike riders who felt it was a life-enriching week. So much of that thanks should be directed to you." Vix & Rosie, Help for Heroes Bike Ride 2008

"Far exceeded my expectations … Great organisation throughout the whole trip, from start to finish … Just a big thank you to the guys from Discover Adventure, who made our trip the most memorable experience ever – they really went the extra mile to make sure we had a good time. Just to let them know the extra mile didn't go unnoticed and was very much appreciated." Michelle & Arthur, Peru Trek 2007, Macmillan Cancer Support

"Can't see how it could have been any better. Fantastic crew who are a credit to your company, great mix of people – all with their own individual stories, well-organised event with willing staff keen to make it a success, great directions and briefings, excellent food, hard to find anything to criticise! We all had a great time and will come back again, doubtless with many friends and colleagues spurred on by our tales." Alex, London to Paris Cycle Open Challenge 2007
