Nomination for Best Tour Operator in 2006 Responsible Travel Awards

Here at Discover Adventure we are very proud that we were nominated and shortlisted for the Best Tour Operator category in the prestigious Responsible Travel Awards, 2006.

As a small company, we very much appreciate the fact that we've been noticed among the much larger tour operators out there.

We have always worked closely with the local communities we pass through on our trips. We work with small operators, often family-run, who live and work in the areas we take our groups through. They employ porters, guides, cooks, drivers, cameleers, etc, from those communities, and food, water and supplies are almost always bought from the local communities as well. We therefore aid the local economy at a direct level and always have.

More recently, we have committed to supporting community projects in Peru, Tanzania and Nepal on a long-term basis. You can read more about these projects in our Responsible Travel section. We also encourage charities to get involved in our projects on their bespoke trips, and arrange for our Corporate groups to provide practical and financial help for communities all over the world, including Costa Rica and Ethiopia.

We do all this without losing sight of the needs of the clients we run our trips for, and still prioritise safety above everything on our trips.

We are therefore very proud that our efforts in Responsible Tourism have been recognised and hope that you will support us by coming on one of our trips.
