GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP, THE CURRICULUM & DISCOVER ADVENTURE ...
The new Schools Citizenship National Curriculum for 2008-2009
"aims for young people to become successful learners who enjoy making progress, and ultimately confident individuals living safe, fulfilling lives. School leavers should be responsible citizens who make a positive contribution to society."
We believe that Discover Adventure can play a key role in fulfilling curriculum requirements for students in school today.
Our aim is to make Global Citizenship available to all young people, engaging pupils in their subjects by helping them to see how relevant classroom skills are to the outside world.
One-Day In-School Citizenship Workshop
Discover Adventure's Globetrotters one-day Citizenship Workshop enables pupils to gain an insight into the developing world.
It examines issues of responsible tourism and sustainable development while researching and producing an hypothetical expedition and community project relevant to each team's country.
Our live travel hub, strict budget and timetable lends an interactive and practical nature to this day of discovery.
The finale sees each team country presenting their 'trip' to the rest of the group, which votes for the most worthy and sustainable expedition of the day.
Globetrotters is aimed at Key Stage 4 pupils though it may be adapted to suit different academic abilities.

Fulfilling Potential
Whether taking part in a School Challenge in the UK or abroad, or through our one-day Global Citizenship workshop, your pupils and your school will benefit from our experience, knowledge and professionalism.
Our programmes are designed to enable students to develop and understand the skills and values needed to secure a just and sustainable world.
We can help all pupils fulfil their potential as an active and knowledgeable, global citizen.
"Citizenship should develop social and moral responsibility, community involvement and political literacy."
