Cavernoma Alliance UK

Cavernomas are abnormal blood vessels found in the brain and spinal cord. Asymptomatically they are found in 1 in 600 people.

Diagnosable since the 1980’s when advanced imaging techniques, such as the MRI, were introduced, knowledge of an asymptomatic cavernoma present us with a number of questions. What happens when full body scans, available for purchase, detect dormant cavernoma resident in an individual? Should they be surgically removed? Are asymptomatic cavernoma a pre-existing condition? Are they likely to become symptomatic?

Cavernoma Alliance UK, (www.cavernoma.org.uk) established in 2005, provides information, support and advice to those with a symptomatic or asymptomatic cavernoma.
