FareShare Sussex

FareShare Sussex has the joint aims of reducing food waste and alleviating poverty. It achieves these aims by redistributing good quality, surplus food from the food industry to local charities and community organisations working with homeless and vulnerable people, which include supported housing, food banks and women's refuges. The service is almost entirely run by volunteers, many of whom have been long-term unemployed with backgrounds including homelessness, drug and alcohol dependency and criminality. We aim to support people back on their feet and into work where appropriate through accredited training and development opportunities within a safe and friendly environment.
