Dogstar Foundation

Sri Lanka is home to over 3 million street dogs which brings associated animal welfare issues. The end of its 3-decade civil war in 2009 and the devastation of the 2004 tsunami are the background to the animal welfare issues we are tackling that also have a significant impact on human health and wellbeing.

The Dogstar Foundation work closely with Sri Lankan communities and vets to provide sterilisations, vaccinations, veterinary treatment and education leading to attitude change. We are committed to understanding Sri Lankan communities and helping them to find sustainable solutions to animal welfare issues.
