Engineers Against Poverty (EAP) is an independent charity that works with industry, government and civil society to fight poverty and promote sustainable development. We were established in 1998 by some of the UK’s leading professional engineering institutions and the Department for International Development (DFID). Our programme is aimed at improving corporate and public policy to maximise the positive social and economic benefits of engineering services in Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia and other poor regions. This means creating jobs, promoting enterprise development and providing education and training. These are practical solutions rooted in business principles, with the power to change lives.
