Family Holiday Association

The Family Holiday Association is the UK’s national charity dedicated to providing access to UK seaside breaks for families coping with difficult circumstances such as poverty, chronic illness, disability, or bereavement. The families are referred to us by other charities, doctors, social workers and teachers.

Our research has shown that for many families, a break can:

Strengthen family relationships and increase family stability

Improve wellbeing and reduce stress

Give children the chance to create memories they can share with their friends, which can boost their self esteem, leading to improvements in school work and attendance
