Health Poverty Action

Health Poverty Action is a UK based charity (Vauxhall) working in partnership with poor and marginalised communities in 13 countries across Africa, Asia and Latin America to help them improve their health, prioritising the communities almost everyone has forgotten. We tackle the range of factors affecting health – such as weak health systems, communicable diseases, lack of basic health education, harmful traditional practices, gender-based violence, lack of food and income, and poor water and sanitation.

Key Achievements:

Lowering HIV prevalence in Rwanda by 73%

Increasing contraceptive use from 4% to 27% in Rwanda

Reducing maternal deaths at a rural hospital in Sierra Leone by 72%
