HEART UK – The Cholesterol Charity is dedicated to preventing early disease and premature deaths caused by high cholesterol and other lipid conditions – especially familial hypercholesterolaemia (FH). FH affects about 1 in every 250 people in the UK and can lead to early cardiovascular disease and reduced life expectancy. Almost half of UK adults have raised cholesterol, which increases their risk of heart disease.

That’s why HEART UK works to help individuals, families and health professionals understand cholesterol and related risks, take appropriate action, and manage FH and other lipid disorders.

Our vision is to prevent early disease and deaths from cholesterol and other blood fat (lipid) conditions in the UK.

Our aim is for people to know and understand their cholesterol and other blood fat (lipid) levels and take appropriate action.
