Howgill Family Centre

The Howgill Family Centre aims to provide support for Children and Families throughout West Cumbria so that every child might have equality of opportunity to achieve their full potential. The organisation coordinates centre-based activities, Home Support and Community outreach projects.

Today Howgill offers activities for all children up to the age of nineteen as well as a range of initiatives that parents can enjoy or turn to if they need support of any kind. Howgill Family Centre started with a group of parents who got together to provide pre-school activities for children up to age five in a building on Howgill Street, Whitehaven. This remains a key element of what the organisation does today, all be it on a very much larger scale.
