Karen Morris Memorial Trust

The Karen Morris Memorial Trust (KMMT) provides facilities for leukaemia patients and their families which would not otherwise be available. Our ultimate aim is to alleviate just a little of the emotional and physical pain during an inevitably very bleak period in their lives.

Our main focus is the ‘Homes from Home’ and we opened our first one at Hammersmith Hospital in January 2007, with more in the pipeline at hospitals in Oxford and Birmingham. We also provide emotional support through counsellors and complemetory therapists operating at The Royal Free Hospital in London and the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Birmingham.

The charity was set up to continue the fundraising initiative of a 23 year old student who passed away on 18th September 1998, just one year after being diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukaemia.
