The Moroccan Primate Conservation UK works on the protection of the endangered Barbary macaque (Macaca sylvanus) in Morocco by preserving their natural habitat, scientific research and fighting the illegal pet trade in infants. MPC-UK aims to help put a halt to the illegal trade in the ENDANGERED Barbary macaque and protect its natural habitat. There are only 4000 - 6000 individuals are left in the wild. MPC-UK hopes to help fund the creation of a sanctuary for macaques in Morocco. MPC-UK protects this beautiful species by fundraising to support scientific research, species and habitat conservation, educational programmes, lobby with the Moroccan government and the European Union, rehabilitation of Barbary macaques and all other actions needed to protect them from going extinct.
