Project Harar

Project Harar works in Ethiopia to help children and young people living with facial disfigurements. For the 85% living in rural poverty we are a bridge to professional medical care. Year round we provide over 1,200 cleft lip and palate surgeries, predominantly for children who would be otherwise denied due to lack of money, facilities, or simply by not being aware the surgery was available. We also run an annual mission to provide surgery for complex cases of facial disfigurement such as noma (facial gangrene), burns, animal attack injuries and tumours. By providing the surgery we ensure that these children can go back to school, have friends, and live a normal, happy life.
