Renewable World

The Koru Foundation is a charity dedicated to delivering renewable energy projects in developing countries. By using renewable energy, our work helps tackle energy poverty and aid those most affected by climate change. Our community-managed, small-scale renewable energy projects improve the lives of people by providing clean, sustainable energy which is used to light schools, health centres and homes, cook food, pump clean water and support local businesses.

The Koru Foundation believes that the best way to provide sustainable solutions for community development is to start with the people themselves. Building a strong partnership with the local community is an essential part of our work in order to respect the communities’ cultural values at the same time as developing a solution which meets the needs of the community. We work in partnership non-governmental organisations that have a history of successfully implementing poverty reduction projects with local communities in developing countries.
