All species of Gorilla are endangered and at genuine risk of extinction. These beautiful creatures live in the midst of abject human poverty and near-ceaseless conflict. The Gorilla Organization has been working at the very forefront of gorilla conservation for more than 25 years. Our innovative and award-winning projects in Rwanda, Uganda and DR Congo are all aimed at addressing the key threats facing the critically endangered gorillas today. The Gorilla Organization's field projects are aimed at working with local communities to safeguard these forests and to provide people with a sustainable alternative to the resources found in them. Alongside traditional conservation methods like regular ranger patrols, this community-led approach can ensure both the gorillas and their human neighbours enjoy a brighter future.
