Wood Street Mission

Wood Street Mission helps children and families living in poverty in Manchester and Salford. We provide practical help to help meet children’s day-to-day needs and improve their life chances. We give struggling families clothes, bedding & baby equipment, toys & books which are important for children’s well-being and development, and food during school holidays.

We promote engagement in education by helping families with the costs of going to school, and run holiday book clubs to promote reading and improve children’s literacy. We work to raise awareness about child poverty, and every year help about 7000 children.
